Note: This bulletin applies to 1997 Chrysler vehicles equipped with an AM/FM/Cassette/CD Player sales code RAZ.
Symptoms:
The CD palyer may become inoperative and will not accept the CD when the CD is inserted into the radio. This may be caused by a sticking microswitch inside the CD mechanism. The condition can be intermittent and may occur more often in hotter ambient temperatures. The AM/FM radio and cassette will continue to operate normally.
Diagnosis:
If a customer complaines of an inoperative CD Player, contact Mitsubishi Radio Repair Center to arrange an exchange unit prior to removing the suspect radio. Schedule the service appointment after the exchange unit arrives to avoid customer inconvenience.

Repair:
1. Record radio station presets
2. Disconnect and isolate battery negative connection(s)
3. Remove the radio from the instrument panel
4. Insatll the exchange radio supplied by the Mitsubishi Radio Repair Center.
5. Connect the battery negative cable(s) and set the clock and radio stations recorded earlier.
