Safety Wired Rear Plate - Inspect safety wire and tin/lead seal. The wire should be intact with seal attached. On occasion the seal may be missing due to vibration, but the safety wire will be intact and not disturbed. If the wire is disturbed, there will be evidence of fraying or improper reinstallation along with witness marks from the paint that has been disturbed (Figure 6 and 7).

Aneroid Fuel Control - inspect the attaching screws and especially the tamper proof screws for damage. In addition, if the AFC has been moved, there will be paint witness marks where it attached at the pump (Figure 8 and 9).

Delivery Valves - The only valve that should be disturbed is the No. 1 valve. This is used for timing purposes. If any of the other valves are removed, there will be witness marks left by chipped paint around the valves (Figure 10).

Whenever an old injection pump is replaced, the overflow valve should be returned with the old pump (Figure 11). Before returning an injection pump, the Chrysler Diesel Return Material form must be filled out and attached to the pump (Figure 12).
