Symptom/Condition:

Parts Required:
1 55076488AB Mirror, heated outside power,
right side
1 55076489AB Mirror, heated outside power,
left side
Repair Procedure:
The passenger and/or driver side power mirror is replaced under terms of the
warranty.
NOTE: The following repair should be performed on both mirrors only if
both mirrors create static in the radio speakers when the mirror is operated
to the end of its travel.
-
Roll the window(s) down.
-
Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable(s).
-
On vehicles equipped with a manual window regulator, remove the window
crank (Fig 3).
-
Remove the screw that attaches the trim panel to the outside mirror frame
(Fig 4).
-
Remove the screws that attach the pull cup to the door.
-
Using a trim panel removal tool such as snap-on tool A161B, disengage the
trim panel retaining clips from the door. Base models have 11 trim
panel retaining clips (clips 12 and 13 not used) and premium models have
13 clips (Fig 2). It is very important that a trim panel tool is used
to separate each retaining clip from the door.
-
-
CAUTION: NOTE: DAMAGE TO THE DOOR TRIM PANEL MAY OCCUR IF THE DOOR TRIM
PANEL RETAINER CLIPS ARE SEPARATED FROM THE DOOR WITHOUT USING THE
PROPER TRIM PANEL REMOVING TOOL.
-

lift upward and inboard.

equipped (Fig 4a).

-
Remove the three nuts that secure the outside power mirror to the inner
door panel.
-
Unseat the power mirror wire harness grommet by pushing it out through
the hole in the door flag from inside the vehicle.
-
Pull the mirror from the outside of the door while feeding the wire harness,
grommet, and connector out through the hole from the inside of the door.
-
From the outside of the door, feed the wire harness, grommet, and connector
of the new power mirror through the hole to the inside of the door, then
seat the grommet.
-
Secure the outside power mirror to the door using the three nuts and tighten
the nuts to 65 in-lbs (7.5 Nm).
-
Engage the outside power mirror wire harness connector.
-
Attach the mirror flag seal onto the inner door panel.
-
If performing this repair to the drivers side mirror, engage the power
mirror switch connector.
-
Engage the power window/lock switch connector from the switch panel, if
equipped.
