Models: 1994-1999 BR/BE Ram with 8.0L V10 engine
Symptoms:
Some vehicles may exhibit a condition where the accessory belt becomes damaged on the INBOARD edge. Customers may explain the problem as belt noise. This may be caused by the crank pulley loosening on the crank and causing a misalignment.
Diagnosis:
Inspect the accessory drive belt for fraying or unusual wear on the INBOARD edge. If wear is noted, inspect the crank pulley bolt for looseness and the crank pulley for misalignment. Sight the crank pulley with other accessory drives, or use a straightedge to detect misalignment. If the crank pulley is misaligned or loose, perform the Repair Procedure.
