Models: 2000-2001 (BE/BR) Ram Truck V10
NOTE. THIS INFORMATION APPLIES TO ALL 2000 AND 2001 (BR/BE) RAM TRUCKS BUILT PRIOR TO JANUARY 8, 2001 AND EQUIPPED WITH THE V10 - 8.0L ENGINE (EWA).
Symptom/Condition:
Customer may complain that, while stopped, the vehicle will die out when started and shifted from park to reverse, park to drive.
Diagnosis:
If Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. If the condition(s) can be duplicated or are described by the customer, perform the Repair Procedure.

NOTE: THE MDS2 MUST BE OPERATING AT CIS CD 2087 OR HIGHER (2087 ARRIVES IN DEALERSHIPS ON July 23, 2001).
Repair Procedure:
1. Flash the PCM using the MDS2 (Mopar Diagnostic System) and DFIB 1110 (Scan Tool).
NOTE: THE FOLLOWING STEPS ARE REQUIRED BY LAW:
2. Type the necessary information on the "Authorized Software Update Label" p/n 04669020 (Fig. 1). Attach the label to the PCM and cover the label with the clear plastic overlay. Type the necessary information on the "Authorized Modification Label" p/n 04275086 and attach the label near the VECI label (Fig. 2).
