Models: 2002 (DR) Ram Truck 1500
Overview:
This bulletin Involves removing and correctly Installing the headlamp assembly.
Symptom/Condition:
A snapping sound may be present while driving on rough roads or when hand pressure
is applied to the headlamp assembly This may be caused by a mis-positioned alignment
pin on the headlamp assembly.
Diagnosis:
Push on the headlamp assembly with your hand. If the snapping sound
is present, perform the Repair Procedure.
Repair Procedure:
1. Remove the three screws and plastic push pins attaching the headlamp assembly to the front Inner fender
2. Pull the headlamp assembly away from the fender slightly (Fig. 1). Note the alignment pin at the upper outboard area of the headlamp assembly. The alignment pin must be engaged in the corresponding alignment hole in the inner fender.

3. Position the headlamp assembly on the inner fender making sure that the alignment pin is engaged in the corresponding hole. Install the outboard screw first, tightening It to 7.5 Nrn (65 in. lbs.). This will secure the assembly so that the alignment pin cannot became dislodged.
4. Install the remaining screws, tightening them to 7.5 Nm (66 In. lbs.).
5. Install the push pins.
