NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with 5.7L engines, sales code EZA
and automatic transmissions.

Overview:
This bulletin involves installing a vibration damper on the exhaust system.

Symptom/Condition:
The vehicle may exhibit a vibration at idle, in gear. The vibration can be felt in the seat and the
steering wheel.

Diagnosis:
If the vehicle exhibits the condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

Repair Procedure: 

Allow the vehicle to sit long enough for the exhaust system to cool to a safe temperature to
work on. Raise the vehicle on a hoist and install the damper on the front “Y” pipe as shown.
Position the damper to provide adequate clearance to any nearby components. (Fig. 1).
Tighten the clamp nuts to 42 Nm (31 ft. lbs.).
